News Disgraced and Benjamin Scheuer's The Lion Slated for Long Wharf Theatre Season New Haven's Long Wharf Theatre has announced that its 2015-16 season will include two acclaimed shows recently staged in New York: Broadway's Disgraced by Ayad Akhtar and winner of the 2013 Pulitzer Prize, as well as Benjamin Scheuer's acclaimed Off-Broadway's solo show The Lion.

The season will kick off with Disgraced, to be directed by Gordon Edelstein. The high-stakes, edge-of-your-seat drama premiered Off-Broadway before receiving an acclaimed Broadway run. Performances in New Haven will run Oct. 14-Nov. 8.

The new year will begin with Scheuer's intimate autobiographical musical solo show The Lion, playing Jan. 6-Feb. 7, 2016.

Next, Long Wharf will present Emily Mann's Having Our Say, adapted from the book by Sarah L. Delany and A. Elizabeth Delany with Amy Hill Hearth. A co-production with Hartford Stage, the show centers on two women both over the age of 100, weaving their personal tales of lives lived, filled with charm and warmth.

The fourth show announced will be the world premiere of Samuel D. Hunter's Lewiston, directed by Eric Ting. Long Wharf's artistic director Edelstein said that Hunter "most reminds me of William Inge and Tennessee Williams in his delicate empathy for all the people in his stories."
