
Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler head the cast of the film, which will also feature Bruce McGill, Leslie Bibb, Colm Meaney and Regina Hall. Filming for "Citizen," under the direction of F. Gary Gray, began Jan. 21 in Philadelphia.
The psychological thriller, according to the industry paper, focuses "on a man who, ten years after his wife and daughter are brutally murdered, returns to exact justice from the assistant district attorney who prosecuted the case against their killers."
Overture will release the film in 2010.
Viola Davis won a Tony Award for her work in August Wilson's King Hedley II. Her other stage credits include Intimate Apparel, Seven Guitars, Everybody's Ruby, As You Like It, House of Lear and God's Heart. She also has appeared in the films "Doubt," "Traffic," "Antwone Fisher," "Far from Heaven," "Syriana" and the television series "Century City."
