Drama at the Disco: A Drama League Benefit, an evening to uplift and amplify the New York theatre community, is presented October 21 at 7 PM at The Edison Rooftop.
The benefit boasts performances by Ephraim Sykes (Ain’t Too Proud), Jeanna de Waal (Diana: The Musical), Nichelle Lewis (The Wiz), Nikki Renée Daniels (Once Upon a Mattress), and Jeff Kready (The Great Gatsby) plus a special appearance by Tony nominee Richard Kind (The Big Knife, upcoming All In).
Under the direction of Drama League Directors Project Alum Elena Araoz, the evening also features a strolling supper, cocktails, live music by Third Reprise, interactive experiences, celebrity bartenders, and dancing. The Arts Ally Award, annually honoring those who strengthen the foundation upon which the arts stand, will be presented to Tony-winning producer Patty Baker of Good Productions.
Drama League Executive Director Bevin Ross said in an earlier statement, “Please join the entire theatre community under the glittering disco ball and lights as we tear up the dance floor to support America’s only full-time creative development home for directors!”
The Drama League has been at the forefront of the American theatre
community since 1916, providing life-long artistic resources for
directors and a platform for dialogue with audiences.
