Video Exclusive: Watch Ben Fankhauser Sing ‘Run Away With Me’ The Newsies star gives us a sneak peek at Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk’s new musical The Mad Ones at 59E59 Theaters.

Newsies star Ben Fankhauser dropped by the Playbill studio to perform a track from Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk’s new musical The Mad Ones, debuting next month at 59E59 Theaters Off-Broadway in a production from Prospect Theater Company. Watch the exclusive recording above.

If you recognize the song, it’s because it was previously featured in the duo’s The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown, which has been re-named and completely reworked for this new production.

Leading the cast of The Mad Ones as Samantha Brown will be Krystina Alabado (American Psycho, American Idiot), who will be joined by Emma Hunton (Next to Normal, Spring Awakening) as her best friend and Fankhauser as her boyfriend. Leah Hocking completes the cast.

The Mad Ones follows Samantha, a young woman on the brink of change. As she sits in her parents’ driveway, Samantha faces a choice: Will she follow in her mother's footsteps or forge her own path?

Directed by Stephen Brackett (Buyer & Seller), performances are set to run November 7–December 17.

The Mad Ones is choreographed by Alexandra Beller (Bedlam’s Sense and Sensibility), and Paul Staroba is music director.

The design team includes Adam Rigg (scenic design), David Lander (lighting design), Jessica Pabst (costume design), and Alex Hawthorn (sound design). The production stage manager is Veronica Aglow, and the casting director is Michael Cassara, CSA.
