The Education Theatre Association (EdTA) has announced the addition of three new directors to its board. Felicia Latoya Brown, Randy Cohen, and Briana Navarro will begin their leadership terms July 1.
Brown, hailing from Trenton, New Jersey, has a career and technical theatre teaching background, with a commitment to anti-racism and neurodiversity in theatre education. Cohen serves as Vice President of Research at Americans for the Arts in Washington, D.C., where he works to advocate for the arts in national policy. Navarro, who is from Lakewood, Washington, is an experienced theatre arts and AP biology teacher who advocates for inclusive and equitable educational practices.
“We are thrilled to welcome Felicia, Randy, and Brianna to the board," board president Krista Carson Elhai said in a statement. "Their collective expertise and passion for theatre education will be instrumental in advancing our strategic priorities and mission."
The EdTA, home to the Educational Theatre Foundation and International Thespian Society, is an international nonprofit that provides financial support to enhance theatre education, expand access, and foster racial equity.
