The Broadway engagement of Taylor Mac's Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus will wrap up at the Booth Theatre June 16. The new comedy from the Pulitzer Prize finalist takes place just after the conclusion of William Shakespeare’s first tragedy, and tells the story of the pair of lowly servants charged with cleaning up the bodies from years of bloody battles.

At the time of its closing, Gary will have played 45 preview performances and 65 regular performances. Tony Award winner George C. Wolfe directs a cast made up of Tony winner Nathan Lane as Gary, Tony nominee Kristine Nielsen as Janice, and Tony winner Julie White as Carol.

Gary, which is produced by Scott Rudin, began previews March 11 ahead of an April 21 opening. The production was nominated for seven 2019 Tony Awards, including Best Play, and Direction, as well as acting nods to both Nielsen and White.

The creative team for Gary includes four-time Tony Award winner Santo Loquasto (scenic design), Tony and Academy Award winner Ann Roth (costume design), nine-time Tony Award winner Jules Fisher and three-time Tony Award winner Peggy Eisenhauer (lighting design), Oscar-nominated composer Danny Elfman (original music), Tony nominee Dan Moses Schreier (sound design), and Tony winner Bill Irwin (movement). Casting is by Telsey + Company.

Mac is the creator, author, and star of the acclaimed A 24-Decade History of Popular Music, as well as the playwright of Hir, seen at Playwrights Horizons. Other full-length works include The Walk Across America for Mother Earth, The Lily's Revenge, The Young Ladies Of, Red Tide Blooming, and The Be(A)st of Taylor Mac.
