The Play That Goes Wrong creator Mischief took two shows to this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Charlie Russell Aims to Please and Mind Mangler: Member of the Tragic Circle. Get a first look at both productions below.
Written and performed by Charlie Russell, Charlie Russell Aims to Please is a meta solo show about preparing a meta solo show for Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Running through August 27 at Pleasance Courtyard (Below), the work is directed by Katie-Ann McDonough and features lighting design by David Howe, video design by Virginie Taylor, and music by Ed Zanders.
Mind Mangler is written by Play That Goes Wrong playwrights Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields, with Lewis and Sayer starring. Based on a character originally created for Magic Goes Wrong by Lewis, Sayer, Shields, and Penn & Teller, Mind Mangler presents a new spectacular that spirals into chaos. Hannah Sharkey directs, with Ben Hart serving as magic consultant, lighting design by Howe, video design by Gillian Tan, sound design by James Melling, and stage management by Jasmin Hay and Eispeth Watt. The production runs through August 28 at Pleasance Courtyard (Beyond).
