Grab your bowler hats and fishnet tights, because beginning on April 7, Schmigadoon! is taking on the musicals of the '60s and '70s with Schmicago. The Apple TV+ television series, which started its first season in the realm of golden age musicals, follows two modern-day New Yorkers as they stumble upon a fantasy world of musical theatre, which they must navigate their way through by song and dance.
The first season featured original numbers that parodied the song styles and scenes of classics like Oklahoma!, Camelot, and, of course, Brigadoon—and plenty of appearances by stars of the stage like Ariana DeBose, Kristin Chenoweth, and Aaron Tveit. The the first season of Schmigadoon! earned a loyal following of theatre fans and an Emmy award.
The upcoming season, Schmicago, will feature new musical numbers composed by the show's co-creator Cinco Paul. Last season's stars Cecily Strong, Keegan-Michael Key, Ariana DeBose, Martin Short, Dove Cameron, Jaime Camil, Kristin Chenoweth, Alan Cumming, Ann Harada, Jane Krakowski, and Aaron Tveit will be returning—alongside new guest stars Tituss Burgess and Patrick Page.
The first two episodes of Schmicago will be available on April 7 on Apple TV, with the rest of the episodes airing every Friday through May 5th. Get a first look at the new season below:
