Grey Gardens, the Hamptons mansion that gave its name to two movies and a Broadway musical, is on the market for $19.995 million, according to Newsday.

Though crumbling and creepy in the late 20th century as it became a squalid refuge for reclusive Kennedy family relatives Edith Bouvier Beale (Big Edie) and her daughter, Edith Beale (Little Edie), the 10-bedroom mansion has been substantially restored and improved and is now on the market for the first time in decades.

The house was featured in a 1975, documentary film, which was then adapted as a Tony-winning stage musical in 2006 starring Christine Ebersole and Mary Louise Wilson. The story also gave rise to an HBO movie in 2009 with Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore.

Here is Ebersole in a scene from the musical:

The three-story 1897 building was purchased in 1979 by Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee and his wife, journalist Sally Quinn, who restored it and lived there for a month each summer, renting it out the rest of the year for $175,000.

Newsday reports that the house, which stands on 1.7 acres of land 100 yards from the Atlantic Ocean, has 6-1/2 bathrooms, plus a pool and tennis court.
