Billy McEntee and Grier Mathiot's The Voices in Your Head will be remounted by Egg & Spoon Theatre Collective later this fall.
The dark comedy will return to St. Lydia’s in Brooklyn from September 9 to October 7, following its sold-out world premiere earlier this year. Directed by Ryan Dobrin (Merrily We Roll Along) the site-specific play is staged in the storefront church for an audience of 20 per night.
The return production will star original actors Christian Caro, Marcia DeBonis (The Trees), Tom Mezger (Pip’s Island), Daphne Overbeck, Erin Treadway (Spaceman), and Jehan O. Young (...The 84th Annual Starburst Cotillion), with new company members Alex Gibson (Octet), Jamila Sabares–Klemm (Merrily We Roll Along) and Molly Samson (Come From Away) joining for the engagement.
In The Voices in Your Head, support group members gather for an hour-long meeting. As eight New Yorkers of varying backgrounds exchange stories in their honest oasis, the outside world threatens to close in, shattering the haven for weird joy.
Dobrin directs the show within his theatre collective, Those Guilty Creatures. Carina Goebelbecker is the production's movement director, and Debbie Holloway is the stage manager.
