All four of the tracks are performed by Joy Huerta of Mexican pop duo Jesse & Joy, who penned the work's music and lyrics alongside Benjamin Velez

Based on Josefina López's play, the musical begins performances April 1, 2025 at the James Earl Jones Theatre. Opening night is set for April 27.

The project is being helmed by Sergio Trujillo, who's directing and choreographing. The musical is adapted from López's 1993 play, which also had a 2002 film version. Along with Huerta and Velez's music and lyrics, the show features a book by Lisa Loomer with Nell Benjamin. The work follows a first-generation child of Mexican immigrants torn between joining the family garment business or embarking on her own dream of attending college in NYC.

No casting for the Broadway bow has been revealed.

Nadia DiGiallonardo is the musical's music supervisor, with further creative team members to be announced.
