The second installment of Honoring Black Women in Music!, inspired by Black artists who have pushed the boundaries of the music industry, plays 54 Below August 28 at 9:30 PM.
The evening features the talents of Katelyn Bowman (The Color Purple), LaDonna Burns (White Girl in Danger), Kyrie Courter (Sweeney Todd), Keisha Gilles (Aladdin), Olivia Griffin (How to Break), Karissa Harris (Sister Act), Ashley Jossell (Chasing Grace), Zachary A. Myers (A Strange Loop), Sarita Amani Nash (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), Nattalyee Randall (Rocktopia), Alicia Thomas (Dreamgirls), Anita Welch (Aida), and Alyssa Wray (American Idol).
Dev Bondarin directs with musical direction by Rashad McPherson.
Attendees can expect to hear songs made famous by Eartha Kitt, Whitney Houston, TLC, and more. Honoring Black Women in Music! is designed to "commemorate, uplift, and celebrate Black excellence."
