Broadway News Jenn Colella to Return to Broadway's Come From Away

The Suffs star will succeed Rachel Tucker, reprising her Tony-nominated performance.

Come From Away original cast member Jenn Colella will return to her Tony-nominated performance in the musical's Broadway engagement as Beverley, Annette, and others for a strictly limited engagement June 21–August 7 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, taking over the role from Becky Gulsvig. Colella will be succeeded by West End and Broadway favorite Rachel Tucker, herself returning to the role after re-opening the show post pandemic, August 9.

Also joining the company June 21 is Sharone Sayegh, coming to the Broadway company from the Come From Away North American national tour and playing the role of Bonnie and others. Original cast member Petrina Bromley will succeed Sayegh from September 27.

Along with her Tony-nominated turn in the original Broadway company of Come From Away, Colella has been seen on Broadway in Urban CowboyHigh FidelityChaplin, and If/Then. Most recently, she starred as Carrie Chapman Catt in Shaina Taub's Suffs, which finished its world premiere engagement Off-Broadway at The Public Theater May 29.

Sayegh has been seen on the Main Stem in Mamma Mia! and The Band's Visit. Her summer engagement will be her first with the Broadway Come From Away

The current Broadway company features Bromley, De’Lon Grant, Becky Gulsvig, Caesar Samayoa, James Seol, Q. Smith, Astrid Van Wieren, Emily Walton, Jim Walton, Gene Weygandt, Sharon Wheatley, Paul Whitty, Josh Breckenridge, John Jellison, Tony LePage, Monette McKay, Happy McPartlin, and Julie Reiber.

The international hit musical Come From Away, which resumed performances at the Schoenfeld September 21, 2021, tells the true story of 7,000 stranded air passengers during the wake of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. The ensemble cast take on a variety of roles, from travelers to locals to airline personnel.

The show features music, lyrics, and a book by Irene Sankoff and David Hein with direction by Tony winner Christopher Ashley, choreography by Olivier winner Kelly Devine, music supervision and arrangements by Ian Eisendrath, scenic design by Beowulf Boritt, costume design by Toni-Leslie James, lighting design by Howell Binkley, sound design by Gareth Owen, orchestrations by August Eriksmoen, and casting by Rachel Hoffman of The Telsey Office.

After opening March 12, 2017, the musical was nominated for seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The West End production reopened in London in July.
