If you're sad you missed her on Broadway, don't worry. Tony and Olivier winner Jodie Comer will narrate the audiobook version of Suzie Miller's Prima Facie, Deadline reports. The audiobook will be released January 30 from Macmillan Audio.
The audiobook will feature Comer's narration of Miller's 288-page novel adaptation of Prima Facie, rather than the script of the stage play. As previously reported, Miller is also penning a film adaptation, which will star Tony winner Cynthia Erivo.
“It has been an absolute joy to return to Tessa’s story whilst recording this audiobook," Comer told Deadline. "My hope is that it will reach the widest number of people, perhaps who weren’t able to see the play. I’ve personally enjoyed delving into her story again and am excited for audiences to experience this further exploration gifted to us by the wonderful Suzie Miller.”
Prima Facie opened at the John Golden Theatre on Broadway April 23, 2023, after beginning previews April 11. The production had previously played the West End's Harold Pinter Theatre, and received the Olivier Award for Best New Play. The extended Broadway run ended July 2, 2023.
Prima Facie follows Tessa Ensler, a barrister who specializes in defending men accused of sexual assault. But when she finds herself on the witness stand, her whole world is upended.

Comer starred as Tessa in the solo show, both on Broadway and in the West End. Her performance earned her the 2022 Olivier Award for Best Actress, and the 2023 Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Play. Dani Arlington served as the production's understudy.
Justin Martin (The Jungle) directed the Broadway production, which featured an original score by Rebecca Lucy Taylor (aka Self Esteem), scenic and costume design by Miriam Buether, lighting design by Natasha Chivers, sound design by Ben and Max Ringham, and video by William Williams for Treatment Studio. Buether received a 2023 Tony nomination for her scenic design, while Chivers and Ben and Max Ringham were also nominated in their categories.
