My First Ex-Husband, a new show from comic and The View co-host Joy Behar, officially opens Off-Broadway February 6 at the newly renovated MMAC Theater on West 60th Street.
Directed by Randal Myler, previews began January 29. A rotating lineup of artists from theatre, TV, and film lead the production; the first company features Behar, Susie Essman (Curb Your Enthusiasm), multiple Tony nominee Tovah Feldshuh (Golda's Balcony, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), and Adrienne C. Moore (Orange Is the New Black).
Behar, Essman, Feldshuh, and Moore will continue through February 23.
Judy Gold, Emmy winner Susan Lucci (All My Children, Annie Get Your Gun), Cathy Moriarty (Raging Bull, Soapdish), and Tony winner Tonya Pinkins (Jelly’s Last Jam; Caroline or Change) will star February 26-March 23; and Obie winner Veanne Cox (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Company), Gina Gershon (Showgirls, Boeing-Boeing), Emmy nominee Jackie Hoffman (Only Murders in the Building, Hairspray), and Andrea Navedo (Jane The Virgin) will perform March 26–April 20. Gershon will join the third company April 2.
In the 90-minute series of monologues, the actors "reveal riveting true stories,
which will shock, thrill, titillate, and ultimately tug at your heart
strings," according to press notes. "In the world of the play, you’ll
meet women married to the mob, to their jobs, to their faith, to money, and ultimately to the wrong man.
The show is produced by Rose Caiola (Caiola Productions) and Cyrena Esposito (Red Letter Entertainment) with associate producers Mark Rubinsky and Tony Castrigno.
