Tony winner Judith Light and Broadway alum Roberta Colindrez have been tapped to star in the upcoming independent drama Ms. White Light. According to Variety, production will begin later this month in Indiana.
Colindrez will play a young woman who runs a counseling service for terminally ill patients with her father, played by fellow Broadway alum John Ortiz. Light plays an abrasive client coming to terms with her diagnosis. The cast will also feature Zachary Spicer and Carson Meyer.
Light, a three-time Emmy nominee (including two nods for her current performance on Amazon’s Transparent), won consecutive Tony Awards in 2012 and 2013 for Other Desert Cities and The Assembled Parties. Colindrez, who currently appears on I Love Dick (another Amazon series), made her Broadway debut as Joan in Fun Home. Her additional stage credits include the Public Theater’s recent revival of Hamlet.
Ms. White Light will be directed by Paul Shoulberg, who also penned the script. Spicer and John Robert Armstrong produce through their Indiana production company Pigasus Pictures.
