Jodie Comer will bring Suzie Miller's solo show Prima Facie to Broadway, a transfer from London's West End where Comer is currently starring in a sold-out limited engagement. Directed by Justin Martin (The Jungle), the production will play a limited engagement in Spring 2023 at a Shubert theatre to be announced.
Comer, a BAFTA and Emmy Award winner for her work in BBC's Killing Eve, will make her Broadway debut with the production.
The play follows a young and brilliant barrister who is forced to explore how patriarchal power over the law, burden of proof, and morals diverge after an unexpected event. Following an Australian Writers' Guild- and David Williamson Award–winning 2019 world premiere in Sydney, Australia, the work opened in London's West End April 27 at the Harold Pinter Theatre, where it continues through June 18.
Along with Martin's direction, the production features an original score by Rebecca Lucy Taylor (aka Self Esteem), scenic and costume design by Miriam Buether, lighting design by Natasha Chivers, sound design by Ben and Max Ringham, and video by William Williams for Treatment Studio. The Broadway run will be general managed by 101 Productions Ltd. Prima Facie is produced by James Bierman's Empire Street Productions.
