Kitchen Sink Theatre Company will host a staged industry reading of Lizz Mangan's Strike/Out February 19. The reading will be held at 7:00 PM at The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture. 

The cast includes Gabriella Pizzolo as Spina, Julia Brunelli as Fletcher, Khamaïlei Angélil as Leeds, Danielle Koenig as Katchadorian, and Lauren Bourke as Drew. Kitchen Sink Director of Artistic Development Em Hausmann is directing.

The work tells the story of The Strike Sisters, a bowling team made up of unapologetically queer characters. When tragedy strikes for a team member, the remaining players have to face harsh realizations.

“This project is a play about bowling, community, and when people within that community are no longer able to support each other as much as they wish they could,” Mangan said in a statement. “This play has a form that queers the concept of time. We see these characters go through things offstage that they bring to their league either the following day, week, month, etc. The core audience of the production is queer people, but more specifically, queer people who have felt displaced and have searched for a space that made them feel seen.”

The creative team also includes assistant director Kenzie Peacock and stage manager Mel Ashby. Strike/Out is produced by Katie Royse Ginther and Ian McQueen.
