News Listen to 2 Songs from Colorful Bend It Like Beckham London Cast Album! Bend It Like Beckham, the new British musical version of the 2002 film of the same name, is getting set to original its cast album and has released teasers for two tracks from the score, which you can hear below.

The show opened at London's Phoenix Theatre in the West End June 24, following previews that began May 15.

Natalie Dew stars as football (soccer) crazy Jess with Lauren Samuels as Jules, a player with the Harriers, a local women's football team, and Jamie Campbell Bower as their coach Joe.

Sophie-Louise Dan plays Paula, Jules’ Mum, with Jamal Andréas as Jess’ good friend Tony. Preeya Kalidas plays Pinky, Jess' sister, with Tony Jayawardena and Natasha Jayetileke as her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bhamra.

Sohm Kapila, Buckso Dhillon-Woolley and Harveen Mann play Aunties, Irvine Iqbal and Karl Seth play Uncles, with Sejal Keshwala, Serina Mathew and Sharan Phull as Cousins. Rakesh Boury, Jorell Coiffic-Kamall, Tom Millen, Daniel Bolton play footballers, with Teetu played by Raj Bajaj.

The Harriers are played by Michelle Bishop, Lisa Bridge, Chloe Chambers, Genesis Lynea, Kirstie Skivington and Danielle Young. Rekha Sawhney and Shahid Khan are the production’s Indian Heritage Singers. They are accompanied by swings including Kayleigh McKnight.

Dew’s theatre credits include The Internet is a Serious Business and Rough Cut for the Royal Court, Romeo and Juliet for the National Theatre and Twelfth Night at the Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park. Regionally, she has appeared for Northern Broadsides, at Leicester's Curve and Liverpool's Everyman.



Samuels was a finalist in the BBC’s "Over the Rainbow" competition. She made her professional stage debut as Wendy in Peter Pan A Musical! at Leicester Curve, and has subsequently played Sandy in Grease at the Piccadilly Theatre and Scaramouche in We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre.

Bower will make his West End stage debut in Bend It Like Beckham. On film his credits include Anthony Hope in Tim Burton's "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street," the young Gellert Grindwald in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I and II" and Caius in the film trilogy "Twilight Saga: New Moon and Breaking Dawn- Part I and Part II".

Dann was most recently seen on the London stage in Made in Dagenham. She was previously Olivier nominated for the West End production of Lend Me a Tenor in 2012. Other West End credits include The Mikado, 42nd Street, Jolson and Forbidden Broadway.

Directed by Gurinder Chadha, who also directed the original film and has co-written the book with Paul Mayeda Berges, the show has original music by Howard Goodall (The Hired Man, Love Story) and lyrics by Charles Hart (The Phantom of the Opera, Aspects of Love). Choreography and musical staging are by Aletta Collins, with  set design by Miriam Buether; costume design by Katrina Lindsay; lighting design by Neil Austin; sound design by Richard Brooker; musical direction by Nigel Lilley; and orchestrations by Howard Goodall and Kuljit Bhamra.
