The Broadway transfer of the London smash-hit Harry Potter and the Cursed Child arrived on Broadway March 16 at the renovated Lyric Theatre. The stage production, which picks up with J.K. Rowling’s beloved characters 19 years after The Deathly Hallows left off, is scheduled to open April 22.

The Ambassador Theatre Group, which owns the Lyric Theatre, announced in December 2016 that they were re-configuring the venue—Broadway's largest—into a marginally more intimate playhouse, dropping from 1,900 seats to approximately 1,500. The spacious lobby was also transformed to match the themes and setting of the play. The interior of the renovated theatre was co-designed by Christine Jones and Brett J. Banakis, and overseen by Project Director Gary Beestone.
