Mandy Patinkin and Kathryn Grody

If a quasi-autobiographical Mandy Patinkin and Kathryn Grody sitcom was on your wish list for the year, you're going to have to wait a bit longer.

A scripted comedy series inspired by the couple's viral Instagram, YouTube, and Tiktok videos, ordered by Showtime earlier this year, has been scrapped as a part of the network's slimmed-down content pipeline. Initially ordered for a six-episode first series, the project, titled Seasoned, now appears to be in limbo without a network, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Drawing from their very real marriage, the series was to see Patinkin and Grody co-starring as a loving but somewhat eccentric married couple. The pair's son, Gideon Grody-Patinkin (the mastermind behind the duo's social media popularity), was to be co-creator and executive producer along with Ewen Wright. Tony Hernandez, Brooke Posch, Isabel Richardson, Patinkin, and Grody were also executive producing, with JAX Media producing for Showtime.

Tony winner Patinkin has starred in Broadway productions of Evita and The Wild Party, and originated the title role in Sunday in the Park with George, opposite Bernadette Peters. On screen, he starred as Saul Berenson in Showtime's Homeland as well as The Good Fight, Life Itself, and Wonder. Two-time Drama Desk nominee Grody starred in the solo show A Mom’s Life as well as Top Girls and The Marriage of Bette and Boo.
