Men Are from Mars–Women Are from Venus LIVE! Opens Off-Broadway | Playbill

News Men Are from Mars–Women Are from Venus LIVE! Opens Off-Broadway Men are from Mars–Women are from Venus LIVE!, a play adapted from John Gray's 1992 best-selling self-help book about the differences between the genders, officially opens Off-Broadway Nov. 7 at New World Stages in Manhattan.

Adapted for the stage by Eric Coble (The Velocity of Autumn) and directed by Mindy Cooper, the mixture of standup comedy and theatre is described thus in press materials: "Actor/comedian, Peter Story shares the story of a man who has resisted the advice of 'Men are from Mars–Woman are from Venus' for years, but a chance meeting with the man himself, John Gray, changed everything. Now Peter imparts his experience with the book and his relationship in this uproarious 90-minute show that covers everything from dating to marriage to the bedroom! Commenting on the show, Peter said, 'It's a great recipe for a night out: a little storytelling blended with some comedy and a dash of sage wisdom from the book.'"

Previews began Oct. 22.

Men are from Mars – Woman are from Venus LIVE! was first developed in Amsterdam and has been on a U.S. tour for the past two years. Its limited Off-Broadway run will continue through Nov. 29 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).

Tickets cost $79 and $99 and may be purchased via Telecharge at (212) 239-6200 or at Telecharge.com.

The production is not related to the 1996 Broadway show presented by Gray himself, in which he discussed his theories with a revolving panel of commentators (and appeared solo later in the run).
