Miriam Silverman was named the winner of the 2023 Tony Award for Featured Actress in Play June 11 at the 76th Annual Tony Awards at United Palace in Washington Heights.
Silverman won the prize her work as Mavis Parodus Bryson in The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window, continuing the role's trend Tony success. Alice Ghostly won for her performance in the role in the 1965 original production, with Frances Sternhagen getting a nomination for the 1972 revival.
Others in the category included Nikki Crawford in Fat Ham; Crystal Lucas-Perry in Ain't No Mo'; Katy Sullivan in Cost of Living; and Kara Young in Cost of Living.
This is Silverman's first Tony nomination. She was previously on Broadway in the play Junk. When she is not acting, Silverman is a professor at New York University.
