Pull out your pencils! The Edinburgh Festival Fringe has announced an additional round of programming for its 2023 season, with more than 1000 different shows announced to be participating. They are the newest of what are sure to be several thousand theatrical offerings from the world's largest arts festival.
Some eye-catching offerings of this round include a ghostly reimagining of George Orwell's 1984, dueling Alan Turing musicals, Drag Queens vs Vampires, Les Misérables pop parody Les Millénniables, Yes-Ya-Yebo! (which celebrates the 12 official languages of South Africa), and much, much more.
Returning to the Fringe will be the 159th Edinburgh International Exhibition of Photography, Austentatious: An Improvised Jane Austen Novel, Reuben Kaye, Paddy Young, and an absurdist restaging of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, which premiered on the Fringe in 1966.
