Regional News Nickelodeon Star Kel Mitchell Will Lead Rochester Anything Goes

The Keenan and Kel star will play Moonface Martin in the Cole Porter musical for OFC Creations.

Aw, here it anything goes! Nickelodeon star Kel Mitchell (Keenan and KelGood Burger) will lead a new production of Anything Goes for Rochester, New York's OFC Creations, with performances running April 3–19. Mitchell will play second-rate gangster and "public enemy 13" Moonface Martin in the Cole Porter musical.

“Theatre has always been a part of my foundation as a performer,” says Mitchell in a statement. “I’m honored to be a part of Anything Goes and can’t wait to take audiences on this fun and exciting journey.”

The tap-happy 1934 musical follows the S. S. American as it sets out to sea with star-crossed lovers, tap-dancing sailors, gangsters, and more aboard. The classic score includes such Porter favorites as "I Get a Kick Out of You," "You're the Top," "It's De-Lovely," and the title song. The musical originally had a book by Guy Bolton, P.G. Wodehouse, Howard Lindsay, and Russel Crouse. OFC Creations will present the 1987 revival version with a revised book by John Weidman and Timothy Crouse.

Mitchell will be joined in the cast by Keely Beirne as Reno Sweeney, Eric Schutt as Billy Crocker, Hadley Strelau as Hope Harcourt, Ben Reiner as Lord Evelyn Oakleigh, Isabelle Jolie Abuan as Erma, Ray Trim as Elisha Whitney, Ann Johnson as Mrs. Evangeline Harcourt, Tripp Hanson as Captain, and Michael King as Purser, along with ensemble members Marissa DelVecchio, M-Jay He, Claire Kennard, AnnaJo Lubasi, Noah Alexander Price, Ariana Rivera, and Immanuel Rodriguez.

Two-time Emmy nominee Mitchell became a Nickelodeon star as a child, starring in the sketch comedy show All ThatKeenan and KelThe Amanda Show, and The Nick Cannon Show, along with the feature film Good Burger, expanded from a recurring All That sketch. Mitchell served as executive producer of the re-boot of All That, and both starred in and produced the 2023 Good Burger sequel.

OFC Executive Director Eric Vaughn Johnson will direct the upcoming revival.
