Broadway star Norm Lewis is bringing in a Broadway kickline of guest talent for his third annual Christmas concert, Norm Lewis: Santa Baby!, at 9:30 PM December 18–23 in New York City.
Jarrod Spector, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Jason Robert Brown are among stars who will join him on the stage at Feinstein’s/54 Below on various nights. Here is the lineup, subject to change:
December 18: Clifton Davis (Disaster!, Aladdin)
December 19: Jarrod Spector (Beautiful, Jersey Boys) and Kelli Barrett (Wicked)
December 20: Jason Robert Brown (Tony-winning composer of Parade, Bridges of Madison County) and Renée Elise Goldsberry (Tony Award for Hamilton)
December 21: Mikaela Bennett (The Golden Apple)
December 22: Bobby Lewis and Ann Marie Milazzo (Once On This Island)
December 23: Bobby Conte Thornton (A Bronx Tale) and Julie James (Sweeney Todd)
Directed once again by Richard Jay-Alexander, Lewis plans a largely new program that will also feature audience favorites from his past two Christmas shows at the New York City supper club. Lewis told Playbill that the song list includes “This Christmas,” “Santa Baby,” “Where Is Love?,” “Home” from The Wiz, “The Gift of Love,” and “All I Want for Christmas.”
Lewis earned a 2012 Tony Award nomination for his performance in The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess. In 2014 he had the distinction of becoming the first African-American actor to play the title role in Broadway’s The Phantom of the Opera. He spent much of 2017 in Mrs. Lovett’s pie shop at the Barrow Street Theater in Greenwich Village, co-starring with Carolee Carmello in Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd.
