Ed. Weinberger's Off-Broadway comedy Two Jews Talking will play its final performance November 27 at Off-Broadway's Theatre at St. Clement’s.
Obie winner Dan Wackerman directs the production. The comedy officially opened August 29 following previews that began August 20.
Josh Mostel (My Favorite Year, The Boys Next Door) and Richard Masur (Lucky Guy, Younger) joined the cast October 28. Mostel succeeded Tony winner Hal Linden, while Masur stepped into the role created
by Bernie Kopell.
The two one-act plays bring Lou and Bud together in the Biblical past
and Phil and Marty together in contemporary Long Island. They
philosophize about women, sex, food, the divine, and destiny in this
tale of companionship and friendship.
The production also features scenic, lighting, and projection design
by Harry Feiner, costume design by Anthony Paul-Cavaretta, and sound
design by Trevor Trotto. The production stage manager is Jacqueline
Perez with casting by Robin Carus and original casting by Carol Hanzel.
Weinberger wrote and produced for The Mary Tyler Moore Show and co-created Taxi, Dear John, and The Cosby Show. He also executive-produced and created Amen, Sparks, and Good News. Emmy winner Weinberger is also the author of the solo play A Man and His Prostate, which starred the late Ed Asner and toured nationally.
Kevin Kennedy, Edmund Gaynes, Maxwell Media, Ben Feldman, and Alexander “Sandy” Marshall produce.
