News PHOTO CALL: Sierra Boggess, Tyne Daly, David Burtka, Montego Glover and Lisa Howard Offer Sneak Peek at Broadway's It Shoulda Been You It Shoulda Been You, the new musical comedy starring Tony winner Tyne Daly, will begin Broadway previews March 17, 2015, at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.

Newly announced are Tony Award nominee Montego Glover (Memphis), Josh Grisetti (Peter and the Starcatcher), Michael X. Martin (The Bridges of Madison County), Anne L. Nathan (Once), Nick Spangler (Book of Mormon), Chip Zien (Into the Woods), Farah Alvin, Gina Ferrall and Mitch Greenberg.

They join a cast that includes Tony Award winners Daly (Mothers and Sons, Gypsy) and Harriet Harris (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Lisa Howard (Priscilla Queen of the Desert), Edward Hibbert (Curtains), Sierra Boggess (The Phantom of the Opera) and David Burtka (Gypsy).

Tony and Emmy winner David Hyde Pierce (Curtains, "Frasier") will direct the Broadway run of the musical, which he also staged during its 2011 premiere at the George Street Playhouse. It Shoulda Been You will officially open April 14. Conceived by Barbara Anselmi, It Shoulda Been You has book and lyrics by Brian Hargrove, with music by Anselmi and additional lyrics by Jill Abramovitz, Carla Rose Fisher, Michael Cooper, Ernie Lijoi and Will Randall.

According to the creators, "In the hilarious and heartwarming new musical It Shoulda Been You, it’s a culture clash for the ages when two families from wildly different backgrounds come together to celebrate a wedding. As if the union wasn’t complicated enough, the bride’s ex-boyfriend arrives, bringing the wedding to a screeching halt and throwing both families into hysterical chaos. Plots are hatched, promises broken, secrets exposed – and the bride’s resourceful sister is left to turn an unmitigated disaster into happily ever after."

The creative team includes Anna Louizos (set design), William Ivey Long (costume design), Ken Billington (lighting design) and Nevin Steinberg (sound design).

The new Broadway musical will be produced by Daryl Roth, Scott Landis, Jane Bergère and Jayne Baron Sherman.
