News PHOTO CALL: Wanda Sykes Stars as Miss Hannigan in Annie at the Media Theatre Comic, writer and actress Wanda Sykes plays the evil Miss Hannigan in Media Theatre's production of Annie, which opened at the Pennsylvania theatre Nov. 23.

Originally scheduled to conclude performances Jan. 16, 2011, the production will now continue through Jan. 23, according to the theatre's official website. (Mary Martello is currently playing the role of Miss Hannigan through Jan. 10, 2011, after which Sykes returns.)

The cast also features Tori Heinlein as Annie and Paul Jackel as Daddy Warbucks.

Wanda Sykes Is Miss Hannigan in Media Theatre's Annie



Featuring a book by Thomas Meehan, music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Martin Charnin, Annie is based on the famed comic-strip character who begins an orphan and ends up the daughter of a billionaire.

Its classic score includes such tunes as "Tomorrow," "Maybe," "Little Girls," "Easy Street" and "It's the Hard Knock Life."
