With music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus (of ABBA fame), Mamma Mia! is written by Catherine Johnson, directed by Phyllida Lloyd, and choreographed by Anthony Van Laast.

The production is designed by Mark Thompson with lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce and Bobby Aitken, and musical supervision, additional material, and arrangements by Martin Koch.

Mamma Mia! originally opened in London at the Prince Edward Theatre April 6, 1999, before transferring to the Prince of Wales Theatre in 2004, and then to the Novello Theatre in 2012. It reopened in the West End following the pandemic August 25, 2021.

The tale of a mother, a daughter, and three possible dads on a Greek island paradise subsequently played 14 years on Broadway, first at the Winter Garden Theatre, then at the Broadhurst.

Mamma Mia! is produced by Judy Craymer, Richard East, and Ulvaeus for Littlestar in association with Universal.
