The West Coast premiere of Gordon Greenberg and Steve Rosen's Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors is underway, and Playbill has the pictures to prove it.
The Monty Python-style send-up of the Bram Stoker classic is currently haunting San Diego's Old Globe Theatre, following its Off-Broadway premiere last year. Running through October 27, the comedy follows famed vampire hunter Jean Van Helsing and her motley crew as they chase Count Dracula around the English countryside in a madcap race to save his innocent victims.
The California production stars Drew Droege (Die, Mommie, Die!, Happy Birthday Doug) as Mina, Van Helsing, and Others; Gizel Jiménez (Avenue Q, Miss You Like Hell) as Lucy and Others; George Krissa (The Holiday Sitter, The Rocky Horror Show) as Dracula, Linda Mugleston (The Music Man, My Fair Lady) as Dr. Westfeldt, Renfield, and Others; and Brady Dalton Richards (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Oppenheimer) as Harker and Others.
Understudies for the production include Danny Adams as Dracula, Harker, and Others; Angelynne Pawaan as Lucy and Others; Akoni Steinmann as Mina, Van Helsing, and Others; and Lisa VillaMil as Dr. Westfeldt, Renfield, and Others.
In addition to co-playwright and director Greenberg and co-playwright Rosen, the creative team includes scenic designer Tijana Bjelajac, costume designer Tristan Raines, lighting designer Rob Denton, original music composer and sound designer Victoria Deiorio, casting director Geoff Josselson, and production stage manager Heather M. Brose.
