Mel BrooksYoung Frankenstein, based on his 1974 film of the same name, is currently playing the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, through July 21.

Presented by Berkshire Theatre Group, in association with Bay Street Theater and Geva Theatre Center, the musical is directed and choreographed by Gerry McIntyre based on Tony winner Susan Stroman's original work.

The cast features Sean Bell as The Monster, Aaron Choi as Inspector Hans Kemp and Hermit, Veanne Cox as Frau Blücher, Matthew Hydzik as Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, James Romney as Igor, Kyla Stone as Inga, and Aléna Watters as Elizabeth Benning, with ensemble members Nick Cearley, Savannah Cooper, Brady Miller, and Linda Neel plus swings Christina Emily Jackson and Cullen J. Zeno. The dance captain is Linda Neel.

Young Frankenstein, which has a book by Brooks and Thomas Meehan and music and lyrics by Brooks, opened at Broadway's Hilton Theatre (now the Lyric) November 8, 2007, playing 485 performances through January 4, 2009. Directed and choreographed by Stroman, the original cast included Roger Bart, Megan Mullally, Sutton Foster, Shuler Hensley, Andrea Martin, and Christopher Fitzgerald.

The current production also has music direction and arrangements by Eric Svejcar, scenic design by Mike Billings, costume design by Barbara Erin Delo, lighting design by Mike Billings, sound design by Joanna Lynn Staub, projection design by Brad Peterson, wig design by Liz Printz, intimacy coordination by Lillian Ransijn, casting direction by Murnane Casting, orchestrations by Doug Besterman and Mark Cumberland, production stage management by Whitney Keeter, and assistant stage management by Julia Bregy

This production will subsequently play the Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor.
