Performances at Playwrights Horizons’ Mainstage Theater, run through Jan. 3, 2016.
The cast of the New York premiere also features Noah Bean, Lisa Emery and Stephen Root.
The show is set in the age of artificial intelligence and follows an aging woman as she grapples with her past. "86-year-old Marjorie (Smith) – a jumble of disparate, fading memories – has a handsome new companion (Bean) who’s programmed to feed the story of her life back to her. What would we remember, and what would we forget, if given the chance?" ask press notes. "In this richly spare, wondrous new play, Jordan Harrison explores the mysteries of human identity and the limits – if any – of what technology can replace."
As previously reported, the play is currently being adapted into a film starring Smith, Jon Hamm, Geena Davis and Tim Robbins, among others.
The staging features scenic design by Laura Jellinek, costume design by Jessica Pabst, lighting design by Tony Award nominee Ben Stanton and sound design by Daniel Kluger.
