International News Queen Jukebox Musical We Will Rock You Will Return to London's West End in 2023

The show premiered in London in 2002 and has since played Las Vegas, Spain, Canada, Germany, and more.

Queen jukebox musical We Will Rock You is planning a West End return at The London Coliseum, running June 2–August 27, 2023. Book writer Ben Elton will direct the completely new production.

The show premiered in London in 2002, with Elton's script telling an original story set to 24 of Queen's biggest chart toppers. The musical imagines a dystopian future without musical instruments, with a band of rebels fighting against the all-powerful Globalsoft (led by Killer Queen) for freedom and the right to rock. The original production was seen by six million people over 12 years and 4,600 performances. Though the musical never made the jump to Broadway, it subsequently toured the U.S. and saw stagings in Las Vegas and Canada, along with a number of other productions worldwide.

"I’m thrilled we finally have this opportunity to put We Will Rock You back on stage in London, where it was born," says Queen co-founder Brian May in a statement. "The show’s original message of the fight to re-establish individuality in a dystopian corporate world is even more relevant now than when we began."

The West End revival will be produced by Phil McIntyre Live Ltd, Queen Theatrical Productions, and Tribeca Theatrical Productions.
