Reviews: Here's What Critics Are Saying About Off-Broadway's Counting and Cracking

The Public Theater has teamed up with NYU Skirball to bring S. Shakthidharan and Eamon Flack's Counting and Cracking Off-Broadway for its North American premiere, which opened September 12. The reviews are in, so read below to see what critics are saying.

The production comes to NY via Australia's Belvoir St Theatre and Kurinji, who are co-producing with The Public. The show tracks a Sri-Lankan Australian family over multiple generations, from 1956 to 2004. Performances will continue through September 22. Flack is directing.

The cast includes Rodney Afif, Prakash Belawadi, Senuri Chandrani, Antonythasan Jesuthasan, Nadie Kammallaweera, Ahilan Karunaharan, Abbie-Lee Lewis, Gandhi MacIntyre, Radhika Mudaliyar, Shiv Palekar, Dushan Philips, Sukhbir Singh Walia (Sunny), Nipuni Sharada, Kaivalya Suvarna, Raj Velu, and Sukania Venugopal. They're joined by musicians Kranthi Kiran Mudigonda, Janakan Suthanthiraraj, and Venkhatesh Sritharan.
