Performances begin October 4 for The Actors Company Theatre’s staging of Oliver Goldsmith’s She Stoops to Conquer. The rare revival of the 18th century British comedy is directed by artistic director Scott Alan Evans and features some “daring” audience participation.
The cast features Jeremy Beck (Widowers’ Houses), Cynthia Darlow (Beyond Therapy), Mairin Lee (The Heiress), James Prendergast (Happy Birthday), Tony Roach (Bright Star), John Rothman (Prelude to a Kiss), Justine Salata (Lovers) and Richard Thieriot (Clybourne Park).
Performances take place at The Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row, where TACT is a resident company. The production will officially open October 16 and is scheduled to run through November 5. TACT bills the show as one with “heightened language, timeless humor, and great heart.”
She Stoops To Conquer features set design by Brett Banakis (Big Love), lighting design by Mary Louise Geiger (The Constant Wife) and costume design by Tracy Christiansen (Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill).
The Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row is located at 410 West 42nd Street, New York. For tickets and more information visit TACTnyc.org.
