Education News Samuel French Announces Winners of ’Razzle Dazzle Competition’ for Chicago: High School Edition Ten high schools across the U.S. will receive royalty-free licenses to perform the long-running Kander and Ebb musical.

Samuel French, Inc. has announced the ten winning high schools that will receive a royalty-free license agreement to produce John Kander and Fred Ebb’s Chicago: High School Edition.

Created in celebration of Chicago composer Kander’s 90th birthday, the "Razzle Dazzle Competition" asked how students “razzle dazzle” their school community, by demonstrating how musical theatre impacts their lives, inside and outside the school community. The entries were adjudicated by representatives from Samuel French, Right On Cue Services, iTheatrics, and the Educational Theatre Association.

The winning schools follow:
Cohoes High School, Cohoes, New York
Keene High School, Keene, New Hampshire
Liberty High School, Brentwood, California
Miamisburg High School, Miamisburg, Ohio
Performing Arts Center for Clayton County Public Schools, Jonesboro, Georgia
Platte Canyon School District #1 High School, Bailey, Colorado
Sussex Academy, Georgetown, Delaware
TimberGriffen Theater Company, Arvada, Colorado
Van Meter High School, Van Meter, Iowa
Wayland High School, Wayland, Massachusetts

“On behalf of all the adjudicators, I would like to thank each and every school for their thoughtful and persuasive application as to how performing Chicago: High School Edition would potentially impact their school and community. The 10 winning entrants simply blew us away with their compelling pitch,” says Abbie Van Nostrand, Director of Corporate Communication.
