Since August, a slew of Broadway shows have held performances with blocks of tickets dedicated to supporting the Entertainment Community Fund as part of their Producer's Picks program. Producer's Picks tickets are donated by the producers of each show, and ticket buyers' purchase then goes to support the ECF's programs and services.

The Entertainment Community Fund is a national human services organization that addresses the unique needs of people who work in performing arts and entertainment—they have services focused on health and wellness, career and life, and housing.

"The Entertainment Community Fund helps performers and behind the scenes workers all across the country in all areas of performing arts," Kimberly Akimbo's Alli Mauzey said at a curtain call. "Not just theatre—it's TV, and it's film, it's music, opera, it's radio, and dance...basically, if you're being entertained, it helps all those people."

Sweeney Todd will benefit the ECF with a block of tickets at its September 28 performance, and ECF has recently added Producer's Picks performances of & Juliet and Back to the Future on October 18 and October 25, respectively.

“The time-honored tradition of Broadway shows supporting the Fund goes back decades—and I myself was thrilled to perform in the Producer’s Picks night of my last Broadway show, All My Sons!,” says Entertainment Community Fund Chair Annette Bening in a statement. “We’re so grateful to everyone who shares these special evenings with us—from those on stage, backstage and front of house, to the producers and audience members who buy tickets—all to support a life in the arts. I hope to see many new faces at a Fund performance this fall!

"This year, in all kinds of moments of need, particularly during COVID, [the ECF] was critical for the arts industry that was shut down," Shucked's John Behlmann said at an August curtain call. "And now, during the writers' and actors' strike, there's a lot of people out of work that aren't able to do their jobs, and the Entertainment Community Fund...[is] in support of all those people."
