Off-Broadway News See Who's Starring in World Premiere of Lloyd Suh's The Far Country Off-Broadway

Following a family from rural Taishan to California, the new play begins at Atlantic Theater Company November 17.

Atlantic Theater Company's upcoming world premiere production of Lloyd Suh's The Far Country has revealed casting, with performances set to start November 17 at the Off-Broadway company's Linda Gross Theater. Opening night is December 5, with the run scheduled to continue through January 1, 2023. Eric Ting directs.

The cast will include Ben Chase (Mondo Tragic), Jinn S. Kim (Race, Religion & Politics), Whit K. Lee (Assassins), Christopher Liam Moore (All The Way), Shannon Tyo (The Chinese Lady), Amy Kim Waschke, and Eric Yang (Legacy).

The new play follows a family's journey from rural Taishan to California in the wake of the Chinese Exclusion Act.

The production will feature scenic design by Clint Ramos, costume design by Junghyun Georgia Lee, lighting design by Jiyoun Chang, sound design by Fan Zhang, wigs, hair, and makeup by Tommy Kurzman, and casting by The Telsey Office's William Cantler, Karyn Casl, and Destiny Lilly. Alyssa K. Howard will serve as production stage manager.

Atlantic's upcoming season also includes Simon Stephens and Mark Eitzel's musical Cornelia Street, Deepa Purohit's Elyria, and Lucas Hnath and Steve Cuiffo's A Simulacrum. The Atlantic for Kids series will present Lee Cataluna's Heart Strings.
