National tour production house The Road Company has promoted Vice President of Operations Shawn Willett to the newly created title of chief operating officer. The move follows a 19-year tenure with the company.
"In the nearly two decades Shawn has been at The Road Company, he’s grown to be a pillar of the company, and we felt creating this new role would loudly proclaim to the entire community that Shawn unequivocally speaks on our behalf and is empowered to be a final voice on the many negotiations he handles," says Partner Brett Sirota in a statement. "The promotion is long overdue, and we’re confident he’ll continue to be one of The Road Company’s strongest assets moving forward," adds Partner Stephen Lindsay.
Willett joined the company in 2005 and became vice president of operations in 2010. He leads negotiations and execution of all tour booking contracts managed by The Road Company, whose roster currently includes Wicked, Moulin Rouge!, Back to the Future, The Outsiders, Kimberly Akimbo, Ain't Too Proud, and others.
