SIX: The Musical's original Broadway cast recording, recorded live on the show's opening night, has surpassed 23 million streams since its May 6 release. The album debuted in the number one spot on the Billboard Cast Album chart.
The album featuring 18 tracks is the first Original Broadway Cast Recording recorded live on opening night. Starring in the original cast was Adrianna Hicks as Catherine of Aragon, Andrea Macasaet as Anne Boleyn, Abby Mueller as Jane Seymour, Brittney Mack as Anna of Cleves, Samantha Pauly as Katherine Howard, and Anna Uzele as Catherine Parr.
The U.K.-born musical, a pop-concert-meets-history-lesson celebrates the six women who married King Henry VIII of England. The current Broadway cast continues to star original members Macasaet, Mack, and Pauly, joined by Bre Jackson as Catherine of Aragon, Keri René Fuller as Jane Seymour, and Brennyn Lark as Catherine Parr. The cast also includes Ayla Ciccone-Burton, Holli’ Conway, Keirsten Nicole Hodgens, Nicole Kyoung-Mi Lambert, Courtney Mack, and Mallory Maedke.
Co-written by Lucy Moss and Toby Marlow, and co-directed by Moss and Jamie Armitage, SIX currently plays on Broadway in Brooks Atkinson Theatre, which will soon be renamed for singer and actor Lena Horne. The production features set design by Emma Bailey, costume design by Gabrielle Slade, lighting design by Tim Deiling, and sound design by Paul Gatehouse. Kenny Wax, Wendy and Andy Barnes, George Stiles, and Kevin McCollum serve as its producers on Broadway.
The show took home two 2022 Tony Awards, including Best Costume Design of a Musical and Best Original Score. It currently has a production running in the West End, two North American tours, a U.K. tour, and further productions in Australia.
