Ashley Park and Haley Lu Richardson announced the nominations for the 29th Annual SAG Awards January 11 via Instagram Live.

The 2023 awards season continues in high gear, with a number of theatre favorites scoring a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for their work on screen in the past year. Winners, selected by a large voting body of fellow performers and often a harbinger of the upcoming Oscars, will be revealed February 26.

Broadway alums represented by this year's film nominations include Cate Blanchett (Tár) and Viola Davis (The Woman King) in the Female Actor in a Leading Role in a Motion Picture category, Austin Butler (Elvis), Bill Nighy (Living), and Brendan Fraser (The Whale) in the Male Actor in a Leading Role in a Motion Picture category, and Angela Bassett (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) and Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All At Once) in the Female Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture category.

On the small screen, Christina Applegate (Dead To Me) and Jean Smart (Hacks) received nominations for Female Actor in a Comedy Series, and Steve Martin and Martin Short received Male Actor in a Comedy Series nominations for their work on Only Murders In The Building.

Additionally, Paul Dano (The Fabelmans) received a Male Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture nomination, Laura Linney (Ozark) received a Female Actor in a Drama Series nomination, and Jessica Chastain (George and Tammy) received a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series nomination.

In the broader categories, five-time Tony nominated playwright Martin McDonagh's film The Banshees of Inisherin received a nomination for Best Cast in a Motion Picture, and Only Murders In The Building received a nomination for Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

The 29th annual SAG Awards will take place February 26 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, and will be broadcast on Netflix's Youtube channel as a part of a multi-year deal between the award ceremony and the streaming juggernaut.
