Industry News TCG Gala Will Celebrate War Paint Creative Team at November 13 Gala John Dossett and Samuel E. Wright will perform at the Theatre Communications Group event.

For its annual New York City gala on November 13, Theatre Communications Group (TCG) will honor the creative team of the recent Broadway musical War Paint: librettist Doug Wright, composer Scott Frankel, and lyricist Michael Korie.

The evening will feature special performances by original War Paint cast members John Dossett and Chris Hoch, plus actor Samuel E. Wright, who played the part of Mufasa in the original cast of The Lion King on Broadway.

Originally announced appearances by actors Phylicia Rashad and Condola Rashad have been canceled due to schedule conflicts.

The gala will take place at Espace (635 West 42nd Street in Manhattan). Cocktails will begin at 6 PM followed by dinner and special performances at 7 PM. Proceeds from the event will support the work of TCG to “strengthen, nurture, and promote the American theatre.”

Also being recognized at the event is the National Council for the American Theatre. which is celebrating 20 years of service to TCG and the field.
