Heads will roll this fall as a new musical version of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is staged at the estate of Washington Irving, writer of the original 1820 short story.
The Sleepy Hollow Experience, from Brian Clowdus Experiences, will take place on select dates October 4 through November 3 in Tarrytown, New York, on Irving's historic house Sunnyside.
The interactive musical has audiences follow characters from the tale from scene to scene around the grounds. Live music adds dramatic flair and atmosphere while people partake in Van Tassel’s harvest party (food and drink included).
“The Headless Horseman has gone all across the country, but having him ride on the estate of the man who created him is unreal,” said Clowdus, who has staged the show for the past seven years in various regions. Historic Hudson Valley partnered with Clowdus, who is also the founder and Artistic Director of Georgia's immersive theatre home Serenbe Playhouse, to present the production.
