Here's something to be thankful for: The Broadway premiere of The Thanksgiving Play has extended its run by one week. Originally scheduled to conclude June 4, the Larissa FastHorse satire will now play through June 11.
The play began previews March 25 and officially opened April 20 at Second Stage's Hayes Theater. Read the reviews here.
Emmy nominee D'Arcy Carden (in her Broadway debut), Tony winner Katie Finneran (Promises, Promises), Scott Foley (The Violet Hour), and Emmy nominee Chris Sullivan (Nice Work if You Can Get It) star in the ensemble comedy about four artist-educators trying to devise a traditional Thanksgiving pageant for children that is historical accurate and honors and makes space for Native Americans. Also, they are all white.
Mollie Fink, Dasan Turner, Ishan De Silva, and Atticus Scott-Williamson appear as High School Children in filmed scenes, and the company is rounded out by understudies Christopher Ryan Grant, Clea Alsip, and Amy Staats.
