Theatrical Rights Worldwide has acquired exclusive licensing rights for Million Dollar Quartet Christmas, a holiday reimagining of the 2010 Tony-nominated musical Million Dollar Quartet, for North America.

Million Dollar Quartet's Tony-nominated book writer Colin Escott and original orchestrator Chuck Mead reunited with original producer Madison Wells Live to create this new musical inspired by the true story of the December 1956 homecoming of rock ‘n’ roll newcomers Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley as they reflect on Christmases past, present, and yet-to-come at a moment when no one knew if rock 'n' roll was a fad or a revolution.

Million Dollar Quartet Christmas features a new book and score, with holiday hits and chart-toppers “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” “Don’t Be Cruel,” “Blue Christmas,” “Santa Claus Is Comin‘ to Town,” “Ring of Fire,” “Santa Baby,” “Run Run Rudolph,” and more.

The new musical made its world premiere in 2021 at The Phoenix Theatre Company, ahead of a national tour that same year. While the production will continue to tour during the 2022 holiday season, booked by Broadway & Beyond Theatricals, theatres across North America will also now be able to license the show.

Eric Schaeffer (Follies) staged Million Dollar Quartet, the 90-minute Broadway musical based on the real-life 1956 recording that Presley, Cash, Perkins, and Lewis made at Sun Records' studio in Memphis. Million Dollar Quartet has a book by Escott and Floyd Mutrux; the latter conceived and originally directed the musical.

The show won a Tony Award (for Featured Actor Levi Kreis, as Lewis) and received Tony nominations for Best Musical and Best Book of a Musical, a Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Musical Revue, and three Drama League nominations, including Distinguished Production of a Musical and two Distinguished Performance nominations.

Million Dollar Quartet debuted in Chicago and later arrived on Broadway in 2010. The New York production subsequently transferred Off-Broadway, where it ended its run in June 2011.
