Tina Howe's final collection of plays, Where Women Go, will receive an invite-only industry reading April 25 at 59E59 in NYC.

Presented by Concord Theatricals and The Tent Theater Company, the reading will be followed by a small reception celebrating Howe’s contribution to the American theatrical canon.

"Tina has been a unique and vibrant voice in the American theatre and it is a great gift to be able to share these plays,” said Tim Sanford, former artistic director of Playwright Horizons. “Where Women Go uplifts both the musical vibrancy of her language and the delicate grief that pervades her greatest absurdist creations. It is pure Tina at her unbound best."

Originally commissioned by Concord during the pandemic, Where Women Go is a series of three one-act plays for a diverse cast of women, exploring the absurdity of daily life. Directed by Aimée Hayes, the reading will feature Brenda Currin, Marinda Anderson, Danielle Davenport, Jessica DiGiovanni, Peter Ganim, Alanna Saunders, and Shayna Nicole Small.

Howe previously retired from her work leading the Hunter College MFA Playwriting Program in 2015. A noted female playwright, her work includes Museum, The Art of Dining, Painting Churches, Coastal Disturbances, Pride’s Crossing and more. For her work, she has won an Obie, a New York Drama Critics Circle Award, twice been a Pulitzer Prize finalist, and been a Tony award nominee.
