Cabaret & Concert News Tony Nominee Vivian Reed Will Salute Lena Horne With Birthday Tribute Concert The two-time Tony Award nominee is remembering the singing star on the 101st anniversary of her birth.

Two-time Tony Award nominee Vivian Reed will commemorate the 101st birthday of late entertainment icon and trailblazer Lena Horne with a June 30 tribute concert at The Green Room 42.

The 7 PM concert will feature conductor William Foster McDaniel on piano, Calvin Jones on bass, Damon DueWhite on drums and Don Tipton on guitar.

Reed will perform such Horne classics as “Stormy Weather,” “The Lady is a Tramp,” “A Fine Romance,” “I’ve Grown Accustomed to His Face” and “On A Wonderful Day Like Today.”

Reed was twice nominated for Tony Awards, for her performances in Bubbling Brown Sugar (1976) and The High Rollers Social and Pleasure Club (1992).
