The 1995 Off-Broadway play marked the actor's first produced work as a playwright.

Tony and Emmy winner Laurence Fishburne will reprise his role in Riff Raff, which was also written by the actor, for two staged readings March 7–8 at 7:30 PM at The Center at West Park.

Joining Fishburne will be fellow original Off-Broadway cast member Titus Welliver as well as Yul Vazquez and Stephen Adly Guirgis. All four will participate in a talkback following each performance.

Riff Raff, which debuted Off-Broadway in 1995, marked Fishburne’s first produced work as a playwright. The play follows two half-brothers and an old friend after a drug heist gone wrong.

Fishburne won a 1992 Tony for his Broadway debut in August Wilson's Two Trains Running and was also Tony-nominated for his work in George Stevens, Jr.'s Thurgood in 2008. His other Broadway credits include the 1999 revival of The Lion in Winter and the 2022 revival of American Buffalo.

The Center at West Park, a not-for-profit organization that manages this church, provides affordable space for students, artists, performers, and local organizations and is committed to affordability, accessibility, and inclusivity in the arts. All funds will support The Center at West Park’s programs and preservation of the landmark church.

Tickets range from $50–$250 and can be purchased by clicking here. A limited number of pay-what-you-wish tickets will be available for each performance on a first-come, first-served basis.
