Truth Future Bachman's Skyward: An Endling Elegy will make its world premiere at Lincoln Center October 26. The work serves as the next installment in Bachman's ongoing Shapeshifters saga.

Interweaving musical theatre, gender fluidity, and superhero parables, Bachman's Shapeshifters series reimagines the othering of queerness as a gift to empower their diverse cast. Skyward: An Endling Elegy follows a birdwatcher named Aria, who encounters a flock of extinct animals in the midst of a great migration, awakening an avian adventure that transforms her life forever.

Bachman, a composer, playwright, and vocalist, developed Skyward: An Endling Elegy this year at The Powerhouse Theatre at Vassar College with Barn On Fire. Bachman has previously appeared in Playbill's ongoing Songwriter Series, performing music from their previous work, Luna and the Starbodies.

The cast will include Bachman, Saul Nache, Ebonée Noel, Jordan Rutter-Covatto, Garnet Williams, and Zia. The band will be led by Josh Kight and includes Zandra Azoulay, Buffi Jacobs, Ian Jesse, Matt San Giovanni, and Phil Varricchio.

The creative team of Skyward: An Endling Elegy features director Zhailon Levingston (Chicken & Biscuits) and music director/arranger Josh Kight (Hamilton).

Skyward: An Endling Elegy will play Lincoln Center's David Rubenstein Atrium October 26 at 7:30 PM. Admission is completely free. For more information, visit here.
